Matthew provides regulatory, corporate and commercial advice in the aviation and transport industries and handles litigious and non-litigious aviation-related claims. His experience includes:

  • advising on the domestic and international operation of aircraft

  • advising on codeshares, joint ventures and other commercial arrangements

  • advising on and dealing with international regulators on traffic rights, aviation safety and aviation incidents (including regulatory requirements and aviation incidents in Antarctica)

  • advising on mergers and acquisitions in the aviation and aerospace sectors

  • initiating and defending commercial, consumer, regulatory and administrative actions in the Local Court through to the High Court

Matthew  is a contributor to IATA’s Liability Reporter and manages legal, governance, compliance and risk for the Royal Aeronautical Society Australian Division.

Prior to joining Norton White, Matthew worked at Ernst & Young (EY) in Tax and assisted the firm’s Global Airline Sector group on various advisory, compliance and technology engagements. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland.
