Matthew provides regulatory, corporate and commercial advice in the aviation and transport industries and handles litigious and non-litigious aviation-related claims. His experience includes:
advising on the domestic and international operation of aircraft
advising on codeshares, joint ventures and other commercial arrangements
advising on and dealing with international regulators on traffic rights, aviation safety and aviation incidents (including regulatory requirements and aviation incidents in Antarctica)
advising on mergers and acquisitions in the aviation and aerospace sectors
initiating and defending commercial, consumer, regulatory and administrative actions in the Local Court through to the High Court
Matthew is a contributor to IATA’s Liability Reporter and manages legal, governance, compliance and risk for the Royal Aeronautical Society Australian Division.
Prior to joining Norton White, Matthew worked at Ernst & Young (EY) in Tax and assisted the firm’s Global Airline Sector group on various advisory, compliance and technology engagements. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland.
